If plosives (P and B) don’t bother you in your recordings, you don’t need a pop filter. If they do, first turn on De-Popper (the mic’s plosive-reduction feature) and compare recordings.
Plosives are the “pop” you hear when a P or B sends a burst of air into the mic. A pop filter softens that air before it reaches the mic.
Quick table: do you need a pop filter?
Find the row that matches your recordings and how the mic is mounted.
| What your recording sounds like | What to do |
|---|---|
| Plosives (P and B) don’t bother you in recordings | Keep it as is; revisit if plosives bother you |
| Plosives bother you; De-Popper not tried yet | First turn on De-Popper on the mic and compare recordings |
| Still bothered with De-Popper on; mic on an arm or mic stand | Add a clamp-on pop filter or a foam windscreen (check the listing for fit and mounting) |
| Still bothered with De-Popper on; mic on its included desk stand | Add a foam windscreen (official docs don’t say a clamp fits the included stand, and whether a windscreen fits the YETI 2 isn’t listed either) |
The rows follow what the official documents say. They aren’t a hands-on result, so compare recordings before you decide.
AI noise reduction and plosives are separate features
Logitech says De-Noise has three levels. Level 1 reduces light background noise like CPU fans, level 2 also reduces keyboard and mouse clicks, and level 3 strongly reduces everything that isn’t voice. Plosives aren’t mentioned.
De-Popper, a separate feature from De-Noise, reduces the volume of bursts of plosive sounds like those made by P or B.
De-Popper and the other Signal Cleanup features can be switched on the mic itself, with finer settings in G HUB.
Logitech’s documents give no figure for how much De-Popper reduces plosives and don’t say whether it replaces a pop filter.
Pop filters and windscreens
A pop filter is a mesh or nylon screen that stands in front of the mic. A windscreen is a foam cover that slips over the mic.
Per Audio-Technica’s support article, windscreens are usually foam and fit snugly over the mic, and windscreens and pop filters can often be used interchangeably for the same job.
A clamp-on pop filter grips the pole of a mic arm or stand. Shure describes its PS-6 pop filter as reducing breath noise and plosives, and says it clamps to most stands.
Official sources don’t say how either one changes the sound.
Can a pop filter go on the included stand?
A clamp-on pop filter grips an arm or mic stand pole. Logitech doesn’t say whether one can clamp to the YETI 2’s included stand, so on that stand a foam windscreen is the simpler choice.
On Amazon.com on November 3, 2026, most listings checked don’t state how thick a pole the clamp fits. Check the listing against your arm or stand before buying.
None of the pop filter or windscreen listings checked mentions the Yeti 2. Titles that name a model say Blue Yeti or Yeti Pro.
Where to speak
Logitech says to speak into the side of the mic, not the top. A pop filter, if you add one, goes in front of that side.
Official documents give no speaking distance. With Autogain on, the sensor measures distance and adjusts gain automatically.
Picks by setup
Which one fits depends on how the mic is mounted. Both picks below are new Amazon.com listings (checked November 3, 2026) with 100+ ratings and 4.0+ stars, sold by Amazon or a seller named after the brand.
Mic on an arm or mic stand, and De-Popper on but plosives still bother you
A clamp-on pop filter. Check the listing against the pole thickness of your arm or stand before buying.
Sold by Aokeo Technology Limited and shipped by Amazon.
- Mic on the included desk stand, and De-Popper on but plosives still bother you (fit with the YETI 2 isn’t confirmed): ienza foam cover
A foam windscreen that slips over the mic. This windscreen’s listing doesn’t state the opening size or which mics it fits. Check reviews or ask the seller whether it fits before you buy.
The proximity sensor covers 90° in front of the mic and adjusts gain, EQ and polar pattern. Logitech doesn’t say how a cover over the sensor affects this.
※ Sold by ienza and shipped by Amazon.
Check the price on each listing.
FAQ
Do you need a pop filter for the YETI 2?
If plosives (P and B) don’t bother you in your recordings, you don’t need a pop filter. If they do, first turn on De-Popper (the mic’s plosive-reduction feature) and compare recordings.
If the YETI 2 has De-Popper, can you skip the pop filter?
Try De-Popper first, and add a pop filter only if plosives still bother you. Logitech’s documents give no figure for how much De-Popper reduces plosives and don’t say whether it replaces a pop filter.
Can you put a pop filter on the YETI 2’s included stand?
On the included stand, a foam windscreen is the simpler choice, but fit isn’t confirmed. Logitech doesn’t say whether a clamp fits that stand, and none of the Amazon.com listings checked on November 3, 2026 says a windscreen fits the YETI 2.
Is a pop filter too heavy for a mic arm?
Check the arm’s payload against 995 g (about 35.1 oz, or 2.2 lb) plus the pop filter’s listed weight. There is no official weight for the YETI 2 body alone, and the official 995 g includes the stand.
Data and formulas used (for verification)
How this was checked: As of November 3, 2026, these sources were read:. Logitech’s YETI 2 setup guide. Audio-Technica’s article on windscreens vs pop filters. Shure PS-6 product page. Amazon.com listings were checked too. Nothing was tested hands-on. Where the official documents say nothing, this guide says so.
Method
- Covers Logitech’s official YETI 2 setup guide and support spec, explanations from Audio-Technica and Shure, and pop filter and windscreen listings on Amazon.com as of November 3, 2026. Nothing was tested hands-on.
- For De-Noise and De-Popper, only what the official guide says is used. There is no official figure for how much De-Popper reduces plosives and no official statement on whether it replaces a pop filter, so this guide doesn’t say it works or that a filter is unnecessary.
- Pop filters and windscreens have no official YETI 2 fit specs. Clamp and opening sizes come from store listings and are not treated as official. No Amazon.com listing checked mentions the Yeti 2.
- Picks match the slot type (clamp-on pop filter or foam cover) and are the cheapest listing including shipping that is new, has 100+ ratings and 4.0+ stars, and is sold by Amazon or the brand (checked November 3, 2026).

| YETI 2 AI de-noiser: officially described scope (fans, keyboard/mouse clicks; plosives not mentioned) | Setup guide De-Noise: 3 levels, ML-trained model to separate voice from noise. Level 1 reduces light background noise like CPU fans; level 2 also reduces keyboard and mouse clicks; level 3 is heavy reduction of all non-voice content; some settings may affect voice quality.
