For cable charging, assuming one charge per phone per day, one person at Disney World needs 10,000mAh from opening to close, just barely. Two people sharing need 20,000mAh, and a family of 4 needs two 20,000mAh banks. On a heavy photo and video day (1.5 charges per phone), even one person should carry 20,000mAh.
The picks at the end are a 5,000mAh bank for a midday-to-evening top-up, a 10,000mAh bank for one person all day, and a 20,000mAh bank for two or more.
mAh is the size of the battery inside the bank. The bigger the number, the more times it can charge your phone.
What size power bank do I need for Disney World?
For one full phone charge, start with a 10,000mAh power bank per person. The table is a cable-charging estimate for the main iPhone and Galaxy models.
Start with your phone and power bank fully charged. The 2-day column assumes no overnight recharge of the bank. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max batteries are reported EU label figures, because Apple does not publish them.
| Who’s charging | Half day (midday to evening) | Full day (open to close) | 2 days (bank not recharged overnight) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person (1 phone) | 5,000mAh (just barely) | 10,000mAh (just barely) | 20,000mAh |
| 1 person, lots of photos and video | 10,000mAh | 20,000mAh | 2 banks of 20,000mAh |
| 2 people sharing (2 phones) | 10,000mAh (just barely) | 20,000mAh | 2 banks of 20,000mAh |
| Family of 4 sharing (4 phones) | 20,000mAh | 2 banks of 20,000mAh | 4 banks of 20,000mAh |
Assuming one charge per phone per day, at the conservative end of 60-70% efficiency, the table shows the size that is enough. Only the photo and video row assumes 1.5 charges per phone per day. “Just barely” means the margin is under about 1Wh, so it can fall short on some phones.
Assuming one charge per phone per day, recharging the bank at the hotel each night means one day’s capacity is enough on a trip of 2 or more park days. Without recharging overnight, 2 days takes 20,000mAh even for one person.
Under favorable conditions (70% efficiency, charging from 20% left, a smaller-battery phone), one size smaller than the table is enough in some cells. If you’re unsure, pick the bigger size. The calculator below handles other setups.
Why your phone drains so fast in the parks
A park day means opening your phone for maps, wait times, photos and mobile orders. Drain varies by phone and use, so this article assumes one full charge per phone per day from the bank. A heavy photo and video day gets 1.5.
Walt Disney World’s official pages say Lightning Lane Multi Pass lets you pick up to 3 experiences in one park. Virtual Queue is also handled in the app. Most of that app use starts after you walk in.
Charging inside Disney World
As of October 2026, Walt Disney World’s official pages list charging stations with AC and USB outlets at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Bring your own cable. The pages list none at EPCOT.
Walt Disney World’s official pages describe kiosks that sell portable chargers and swap them for charged ones.
On Walt Disney World’s and FuelRod’s official pages as of October 2026, a third party runs the kiosks, and Disney’s page names no brand or price. FuelRod’s own page lists the MAX10 at 10,000mAh.
The My Disney Experience app handles Lightning Lane, Virtual Queues, mobile orders, wait times, navigation and PhotoPass, so a dead phone loses all of them. The official charging stations take your own cable, and the kiosks sell or swap chargers, so a low phone can still be charged in the park. The pages don’t say whether a kiosk works with a dead phone, so charge before it runs out.
Walt Disney World’s Prohibited Items list has no entry for batteries or power banks, though that is no written guarantee. If you are unsure, check with the park before you go.
Why a power bank charges less than its label says
Some energy is lost while charging, so you never get the full labeled capacity. Wh (watt-hours) is capacity times voltage, which lets you compare a phone and a power bank on one scale.
Conversion efficiency is the share of the bank’s energy that reaches the phone. This article uses the low end.
Counting 0% to 100%, 10,000mAh charges an iPhone 18 Pro about 1.3 to 1.8 times (its 4,056mAh battery is a reported EU label figure). That is fewer than the 2.4 you get by dividing the labeled numbers.
This article assumes 60-70% of the bank’s energy reaches the phone and a cell voltage of 3.6V to 3.85V. On those assumptions a 10,000mAh bank gives about 21.6-26.9Wh.

Charging with a magnetic bank
ELECOM’s official column says wireless charging is less efficient than a cable, so a magnetic bank gives less than the wired figures here. A number for how much less wasn’t found there, so this article calculates wired.
Picks for each situation
Among current models from major brands, each pick is the cheapest of the products checked here that meets the conditions (as of October 2026), or the only one that does. Candidates have 100 or more ratings, 4.0 or more stars, and a seller that is Amazon or the maker.
Their model number must match the maker’s specs. A listing that Sakura Checker (a Japanese review-analysis site) flags is left out.
A midday-to-evening top-up, or a light carry
A 5,000mAh bank with a built-in USB-C plug that goes straight into the phone. For one person from midday to evening, it is just barely enough.
Sold by AnkerDirect, Anker’s official store. The rating count is shared with other models on the same listing.
One person from opening to close
A 10,000mAh bank you charge by cable. The margin for one person is small, so on a heavy photo and video day use the 20,000mAh pick below.
Two people sharing, or charging two phones at once
A 20,000mAh bank with two or more output ports. Assuming one charge per phone per day, at the conservative end of 60-70% efficiency, a family of 4 needs two of these for the day.
FAQ
Is 5,000mAh enough for Disney World?
Assuming one charge per phone per day, 5,000mAh covers a top-up from midday to evening for one person, just barely, with about 0.4Wh to spare. It may fall short from opening to close.
Is 10,000mAh enough from park open to close?
Assuming one charge per phone per day, 10,000mAh is enough for one person, just barely. It fills an iPhone 18 Pro Max from 0% to 100% once with about 0.8Wh to spare.
The Pro Max battery is a reported EU label figure, because Apple does not publish it.
Do I need 20,000mAh at Disney World, and is it heavy?
On a heavy photo and video day (1.5 charges per phone), 20,000mAh is the safe pick even for one person. With 70% efficiency and charging from 20% left, 10,000mAh covers every phone checked here, only just on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
With 70% efficiency alone it covers the iPhone 18 Pro but not the Pro Max, so at the conservative end plan on 20,000mAh. Per the makers’ product pages as of October 2026, the 5,000mAh pick is about 100g and the 20,000mAh pick is about 324g.
What size power bank should my family share?
One 20,000mAh bank covers 2 people charging 2 phones for the day, assuming one charge per phone per day. Filling all 4 phones for a family of 4 can exceed 20,000mAh, so two 20,000mAh banks are the safe choice.
Two days in a row without recharging overnight takes four.
What if my phone dies at Disney World? Can I charge it or use mobile order?
The My Disney Experience app handles Lightning Lane, Virtual Queues, mobile orders, wait times, navigation and PhotoPass, so a dead phone loses all of them. The official charging stations take your own cable, and the kiosks sell or swap chargers, so a low phone can still be charged in the park.
The pages don’t say whether a kiosk works with a dead phone, so charge before it runs out.
Can I bring a power bank into Disney World?
Walt Disney World’s Prohibited Items list has no entry for batteries or power banks, though that is no written guarantee. If you are unsure, check with the park before you go.
Data and formulas used (for verification)
Method
- Covers current power banks from major brands and official phone specifications as of 2026-10-10. Nothing was tested on real devices.
- Energy needed is device battery mAh x voltage / 1000 (Wh). Usable energy from the bank is rated mAh x cell voltage / 1000 x conversion efficiency (Wh).
- The verdict uses the conservative end (3.6V cell, 60% efficiency, 3.85V device battery, 0% to 100%): yes if it still fits, maybe if only the favorable end fits, no if neither does.
- The 60-70% efficiency and 3.6-3.85V voltage ranges are assumptions, not measurements; no primary source gives 3.6V. Charges per day from the bank are also assumptions: 1 per phone (1.5 on a heavy photo and video day). The morning full charge at the hotel is not counted.
- No published wireless charging efficiency was found, so counts are calculated for wired charging.
Assumptions
- Share of the cell Wh (3.7V basis) that reaches the phone battery. Makers quote about 6,000-7,000mAh on a 5V basis (Anker circuit efficiency 82%), a different basis, so the article holds a lower 60-70% that also covers losses inside the phone.: 0.65 (0.6–0.7)
- Nominal voltage of the device battery, used to turn mAh into Wh for devices that publish only mAh (iPhone, Galaxy, Switch 2). Same 3.6-3.85V span as the bank cell; the high side (more Wh) is the conservative end.: 3.7 (3.6–3.85)
- How much of the battery one charge fills: 20% to 100% (0.8) up to 0% to 100% (1.0). 1.0 is the conservative end.: 0.8 (0.8–1)
- Charges per phone from the bank over a park day. Using the app for passes, wait times, mobile orders and maps from opening to close drains a phone that started the day at 100%, so the article assumes the higher side, 1 charge; a light day is half. An assumption, not a measurement.: 1 (0.5–1)
- Charges per phone on a day with lots of photos and video (parades, shows, fireworks): the usual 1 charge plus half, 1.5; a lighter day is the usual 1. An assumption, not a measurement.: 1.5 (1–1.5)
- A half day (midday to early evening) uses half of a full day’s charging.
